A lot of the conventional cleaning products are full of harmful chemicals! Good news is that most cleaning can be accomplished with a few nontoxic items from your kitchen pantry! Here are a few pantry staples that can clean almost anything:

Baking Soda

No home is complete without a box. It neutralizes odors and makes a good multi-surface cleaner like for the sink, tub, oven and counter tops.

Recipe for no-wax and tile floors:

Mix 1/2 cup baking soda in a bucket of water. Mop floor and rinse.

Lemons

A fruit basket staple. Lemon juice cuts grease, polishes metal and lightens stains. To remove tarnish, squeeze lemon juice with baking soda on brass, silver and aluminum.

Washing Soda

A natural mineral, also a stronger alternative to baking soda so make sure to use gloves. Can be used for stubborn stains such as a laundry detergent booster or even cleaning ovens.

Distilled White Vinegar

The essential cleaning ingredient for all purpose cleaning. It disinfects, pulls dirt and dissolves hard water and residues. Great for cleaning windows!

Recipe for all-purpose cleaner:

Mix 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda into 1/2 gallon of water. Use for removal of water deposit stains, bathroom fixtures, windows, mirrors, etc.
